Happy 2020! What Do You Want This Year?

Happy New Year!

2020 is fast approaching and I’m wondering, what do you want in this new year? For yourself, your work, your family, and your life in general? Traditionally, making a new year’s resolution is a way to point yourself in the right direction. This year, let’s explore a new take on the new year’s resolution. Rather than make an empty promise or hopeful wish to yourself, that may fade by the end of the first quarter, set an intention to manifest these experiences, items, relationships, activities, or practices in your life. You can do this! You can make this happen. And most importantly, you deserve it. You truly deserve to have all of your dreams come true!
The difference between a hopeful wish and manifesting a clear intention is the level of willingness and commitment you generate in order to focus on your intentions. This takes time and requires you to stay tuned into yourself. Committing to yourself may create opportunities to say “no” to some of the time and energy-sucking things you have going on in your life. Others may not get to always come first. I can already hear many of you saying to yourself, “But that seems so selfish!” I understand that it seems selfish, so I want to share a quote that I have always loved: “to care for and love yourself is not selfish, it is responsible!”

Where do I begin?

To begin formulating your intentions for this new year, I invite you to spend some time sitting quietly and allowing yourself to get very clear about what you REALLY want. Even if you think it’s impossible or out of range, I want you to consider it. Once you sense those requests begin to emerge from deep inside of you, write them down. Make a list. Make your statements clear and concise. Review what comes through and prioritize the items in order of importance to you.
Once you align with these desires, the next steps needed will become more clear. After you make your list, set up a column of small action steps that will move you towards your most amazing year yet! Go slow and remember that life unfolds one baby step at a time.
